AC GT Legends at Imola 72 – Race Weekend 1/6

First appearance, first race, first victory for Philip Kraus.

On last Sunday THR started the new AC GT Legends Championship with the race at Imola 1972.
25 drivers in 8 different cars went to the start.
Emil Andersson, Maddie Shepherd and Valentin Knechtel started from the first three positions.

Right after the start of the race we had a really big incident. Stefano Zanella lost control of his car due to an technical issue and most of the following cars, were not able to avoid the hazard.

Emil Andersson was able to keep his first position, while Maddie was overtaken first by Philip Kraus and then a little later by Valentin Knechtel.

As Maddie had made a jump start, she received a drive-through penalty, which threw her out of the fight for the lead.

Throughout the race, groups of cars fought against each other.
Imola is very fast and requires high concentration of the drivers.

As the race progressed, the lapped cars made made mostly a good job in letting the leaders pass.

On lap 21, Emil spun in the Aqua Minerale and Philip took the lead, which he did not relinquish until the end of the race.

On lap 23, Valentin overtook margar and the first 8 places remained unchanged until the end.
