GILVIL77 – Memorial Race

Dear THR,

THR was founded at the end of 2018. Since then, we have grown steadily, sharing countless races, championships, battles, and memories together.

Many of you have been part of THR for a very long time.

In every race, we all fight for the best possible result. But beyond the competition, we also support one another - and over the years, many friendships have grown from that.
We respect each other, and we have come to know and trust one another when we meet on track.

For many of you, THR has become part of your life. For many of you, it has become part of your weekly routine.

I have to admit that it took me a long time to truly understand what that means, but this is probably THR’s greatest achievement - and it is also one of the things that motivates us in THR Orga.

At the same time, being part of such a close community means that, every now and then, we get a glimpse into the lives of the individual drivers.

This has now happened with GILVIL77.

Francesco had been a member of THR since September 2020. He raced with us countless times and was known as a very fast, very fair driver.

He stood out:
You could always recognize his white-painted cars immediately.

He was fair:
Whether he was ahead or behind you in a race, you knew you could expect clean, respectful, and enjoyable racing.

And he was fast:
He won several races and, in June 2022, became the F1 1975 Champion in his Brabham BT44-B. He secured the title in the final race of the season at Mosport, after a battle with Florian.

Since 2018, we have seen many drivers take part in our races. Over the years, some have also left us again. With some, we know the reasons. With others, it has remained a mystery.

But with GILVIL, we now know that he is no longer with us.

And because so many of us have only good memories of him, we would like to hold a memorial race in his honor - to remember Francesco, to celebrate the time he shared with us, and to keep him in our fond memory.

While we are out on track in this race, we should also take the time to think of those we once raced against, who then suddenly disappeared from our community.

May they be well!
