On last Sunday [THR] held his second celebration race around it´s second anniversary.

We drove the the 24 hours of Daytona with the ACL GTR Mod cars compressed in 2.4 hours.
We had both racer teams and solo racers at the start.

It was the second race simulating 24 hours in THR history.
And the second celebration race, was as good as the first one.

We had both racer teams and solo racers at the start.

The teams had to make a driver change during the race, which had to last 180 seconds.
The solo riders did not have to complete this stop, but instead received a time penalty.

Valentin Knechtel received shortly before the start that his teammate Müesli could not participate in the race due to technical problems.
Valentin therefore had to drive the race all alone.
Luckily he is used to long stints by participating in real simracing 24 hours races.
After a fight at the beginning of the race, he was able to pull away slightly and defend the lead until the finish.

What a lovely surprise, guys. THANK YOU!!

Valentin after revealing his prize for winning the race.

Margar, Nat Steveson and Stavros also showed a strong performance and chased Valentin the whole race.
Stavros managed the fastest lap of the race.

Congratulations to the winner, the podium finishers and every participant of this great experience!

The Participants agreed again that we should continue such long races in the future.
Maybe we will take this into account for our next championships.

On last Sunday [THR] held his first celebration race around it´s second anniversary.

We drove the GPL Mod at Monza 1966. Instead of doing two 20 Minute races, we raced 68 laps like they did back in 1967.

It was the first full distance race in THR history. And it was a blast.

That was awesome. Crazy!

pitman right after he crossed the finish line.

We saw great performances and many fights for positions over the most of the 68 laps.

Every participant did a really good job. Only at the start we faced a technical failure at Joni Lindholms car, which cause a bit of trouble in the field.

Mac Sheperd started from last position and was still able to win the race.
As mentioned by herself, she benefited from the start crash, as she was able to make up many positions directly. But of course many fast and good laps were also responsible for the victory.

Duderei had a really good Qualifying, which was held on Saturday and started the race on P2, which helped him to stay out of trouble right at the start. He raced also pretty fast and battled with Nat and Mac for his positions. At the end he was able to finish on P2.

pitman started the race from 6th place on the grid. Unfortunately, the damaged car of Joni Lindholm was in front of him.
Due to this incident he dropped back to position 12 and fought his way forward in the progress of the 68 laps.
In the last 8 laps pitman fought with Nat Stevenson for 3rd place and both overtook each other 9 times. The spectators got their money's worth and in the end pitman secured the third place.

We were faster cause of the MOD which could not be 100% correct.
The other reason is that we were more risk-taking, because we didn't have to fear bad injuries or death in case of accidents.

Participants agreed that we should continue such long races in the future.
Maybe we will take this into account for our next championships.

Since [THRs] foundation in December 2018, we have spent most of our time using the mods that Bazza and his team have created.

It was overdue to send a big Thank you!
Therefore we have made a donation to Bazza, Dr. Doomslab and your team.

[THR] says > Thanks for the hours you let us enjoy your Mods!

To celebrate our 2nd anniversary, THR will do 2 celebration races.

Part Two is the race with the ACL GTR Mod at Daytona Road Course.
We will race a 24 hours race with driver swap compressed in 2.4 hours.

Last Sunday, 23 drivers took on the Green Hell.

In class A we could experience a fantastic fight, whereby the Mercedes could not be beaten.

In class B there were also some high class drivers on the track.
Of course there were also some accidents on the narrow, difficult track. Luckily, all ended without any serious injuries.

On Saturday the 15th of December 2018 we had our first THR race.
This means that THR will be 2 years old in a few days and we have experienced a lot in these two years:

First Race

Our first race was held with the GPL Mod at Silverstone and we had 4 Racers on track. Our race format in the first weeks was to run as many 20-minute races in a row as we were able to.
Our first regular driver was Ben Barson. Thanks a lot for showing that the community idea was not that bad.

Our AC server

The first races were hosted on Duderei's home server.
But we quickly moved to a professional hoster.
The first entry in our STracker Database is from 2018-12-25.
After that we changed the hoster 2 times until we moved to a rented LinuxMachine (Thanks Franglais) which runs the ServerManager and 5 AC-Servers.

Races in THR

Over the 2 years, 445 different drivers have raced on our servers.
They drove 28,101 laps and a total distance of 69,589 kilometers.

We had around 94 official events and many uncounted races around them.
We have completed 7 championships and 2 are still running.
Our former champions can be seen on the Wall of Champions.

Discord

The Discord Server has been set up on 2018-12-07.
Our first member besides Dude and me joined on 2018-12-14.
Currently we have 561 Members. Some of them are very quiet or bots, but no matter what time of day, there are always over 100 members online.
What I find crazy is that I have written 11,000 messages in Discord.

Website

The Website followed a little later. The first entry is from 2019-01-17.
It contains 135 pages and 133 news and I wrote more than 32,000 Words.
Funfact: You will need around 3 hours to read them all.

To represent our races I have made 88 posters.
Our Website has more than 22,500 visits and more than 86,000 views.

The most successfull page ist the news page with 14,455 views, followed by the GPL Mod page with 11,217 views.

Youtube

Nearly 1 year after our foundation we started our Youtube-Channel on 2019-02-17.
At first we started with a short PromoVideo which was made by Bo Stamper.
Another year later we started to stream our races and with the help of Klopstick and Ted we produced another brilliant PromoVideo which has been watched 673 times since then.

The channel contains more than 80 videos/streams and has 150 followers.
It was visited 6,000 times and more than 500 hours of our videos were viewed.

Social Media

Besides of the above we have a Facebook site, which get not much attention from our side, but has 127 followers, cause of the website news which get posted on Facebook automatically.
Also an unused Twitch Channel, an equally unused Instagram Account and some other cool things which I might have forgotten.

Organizational but cool things

We have developed many organizational things to improve the time with THR for our members and for the admins.

  • a self scripted booking system realized with google apps script
(which has been taken out of service, cause of the ServerManager)
  • a skin upload system for the many THR custom skins (scripted by JirkaS)
  • the THR-GPL one colored skins (made by Waffles and Technoluddite)
  • the wider starting grids and track changes (like the family edition chicane at Monaco 1966) which were made by Waffles
  • the community based incident review system
  • etc., etc.
The most important > YOU

But the most important thing is the community that has grown up around THR.

I could never have imagined where we have arrived today (after 2 years), but it is still fun to invest time in THR.
It is fun to be connected with you and to race with you.

It was/is an honor to meet some people who are very well known in the world of simracing. For example Sergio Loro, Bazza, Dave Esotic, Fat-Alfie, Ilja aka x4fab, Chris Haye and many others.

THR eats tons of hours, but it feels like a success story.
I know that this only works cause of our members and it works cause I got support from you. It is also nice to see, that you help each other in Discord and that you respect each other.
I would also like to thank those who have made a donation via our Paypal Moneypool to us! That's great!

@Drivers:
Thank you very much for helping me, for racing with us and/or being a part of [THR]!

Your [THR] pitman

I plan to celebrate the 2nd birthday and here is how:

(We will postpone the GPL and TCL championship for the birthday races.)

18 GPL-Racers fought for victory in Silverstone last Sunday.

In Qualifying many racers were in a really good shape and raced as fast as the cars can be. The lap times were quite balanced.

At the start of both races the spectators again experienced starting accidents, which have become common for our races in the last weeks.

Due to the accidents, some drivers had to catch up in order to gain valuable points for the championship.

In the end, the audience was thrilled by the action they experienced on the track.

24 drivers raced on the old but gold track in Silverstone.

Because the track is not that difficult to drive, the drivers stayed close together for most of the race and there were a lot of duels.

The start of the second race was overshadowed by a big incident short after the start, which mixed up nearly the whole field.
